craft + sewing: book clutch

Friday, January 20th, 2012

All 6 of my siblings and I exchange gifts every Christmas. And of course my 14 year old little sister was the first to send out her list. As an avid book reader, one of the things on her list was a book clutch (adorable!). So, of course I had to try making one. I would defiantly do a few things different next time around but all in all it turned out better than I expected. And thankfully my little sister loved it.

I briefly looked over this tutorial but mostly just winged it. I bought a hardcover book at the thrift store with a fun title. Then I cut out the inside and essentially sewing the entire insert as one piece. I then glued that piece to the inside of the book. I used a snap closure and added a wristlet. It is a great gift to make if you are on a budget. The total cost came to about $4.00. Pretty awesome.
