Happy Two Months

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Happy two months to baby A. Man is there a big difference between month one and month two. I dont feel like my head is in the clouds. I got to sleep in this morning. Unpacked. Did all the laundry, and went to Target. Feeling good. We took some two month pics of baby. Does she look bigger?

What’s different?

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Can you tell?

Baby A got her ears pierced yesterday at the same hospital where I was born and got my ears pierced. The tradition lives on. I think its the only way to tell that she is part hispanic.

P.S. We told my parents we were pregnant over Christmas. I made them each a personalized onsie. The one she is wearing above is the onsie I made for my Dad. The crown is the logo of his company. She is already vying for top dog.

One month

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

This post is long overdue. Adelaide is almost two months old so I figured I had better post this before that too passes. I am trying to think of one month milestones but I guess I have not been as good at keeping records as I would like to be. She is starting to smile which is alot of fun but that happened after one month for sure. The one month mark seems more like a blur than anything. It defiantly gets easier and easier as she gets older. I feel like I am finally able to accomplish a thing or two during the day. Well here are some photos of her at one month.

This last one is my favorite. Any time you move A from one position to another, or pick her up from laying down, etc. her natural response is to throw her arms out straight just like this. It makes me laugh everytime and I always ask her if its just a hug that she wants. I bet thats it:)

Our first trip with a baby

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

is going so well. Adelaide did great on the airplane and has done rather well the whole trip so far. She has experienced so many firsts, not that she will remember any of them. Its been fun to take her around to some of our favorite places and to be around so many people that are so excited to meet her. Here are a few pics of our time so far. More to come….

First plane ride.

She slept pretty much the whole time.

Her first time at the beach and rainforest.

She seems more interested in sleeping though.

She was not very interested in putting her feet in the water. Mostly because it interrupted her sleep.

I guess napping with dad in the hammock and at lunch is more fun.

With her great grandmother Abuelita.

Hanging out with her cousin Ingrid,

checking out this view.

And modeling the new outfit Tia Vyria made for her.

Thats all for now.

Visitors

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

We have been blessed with the company of a number of visitors since baby A’s arrival. Its been so fun to see family and friends and get to show the baby off. We have enjoyed each of you and thank you all for making the trek to come and see us and celebrate along side us. Now the rest of you will just have to make it out to Barcelona:) I got photos of most our visitors, but not quite all……..aunt Pamela and Jeannine will just have to come back so we can get pictures with them.

Baby A’s first roadtrip was to visit Joy and Peter in Joplin. We cant wait to meet their little one soon!

Andrea knows what to do with babies.

Steve, Coral, Lacy and Christian came for a visit. And then Lacy and Christian got engaged the next day. Maybe baby A is a good luck charm:)

There is Uncle James. I did not get a picture of him with the baby although I “hear” that he held her. At least he is getting some practice in with the older kids

She is sticking her tongue out at Andy. Haha.

Godparents are the best.

Aunt Mariana was willing to bounce for a looong time. Thats a good aunt:)

A quick photo with Carolyn.

We miss you all already. Come see us again soon!

Polaroids

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Or something like that. Mariana was in town this weekend and brought an instant camera so we took a few photos. It was fun. Baby A’s hair is out of control. She is starting to stay awake longer with wide eyes, smiling, and following us.. The little baby stage is alot more fun than I expected. Its cool to see her exploring and learning new things. She is a cutie.

We miss you already Aunt Mariana.

Not cropping off the head was harder than you might think.

Swimming

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

We took baby A swimming for the first time about a week ago. At first she didn’t really know what to think of the water but ended up seeming to enjoy it. Not that its very easy to read what a 4 week old thinks about things but she didn’t cry so I guess thats a good sign. She was only in the pool about 10 minutes but it was a good first run. We just went swimming again today for the second time and she seemed to enjoy it even more. I think she might just like being outside with lots of new things to stare at. This time she stayed in longer and hung out in a little float thing for awhile. She is quite buoyant. It was nice to get in the water considering the 106 degree heat today. Below are a few pictures from both days and even a video!

Getting loaded up on sunscreen prior to hitting the pool. She happens to have an adorable little bathing suit thanks to her aunt and uncle.

About to get in.

Not so sure.

Alright, this is not so bad.

Maybe I’ll even take a nap.

Second time swimming.

Enjoying the floatie.
