Berlin
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010
I figured it was about time for a post about Berlin since I have been here over 4 weeks. I have not been very great at taking photos but I will share with you a few that I do have. Our strategy for exploring new places seems to be wander around until we stumble upon something cool and then take a few pictures of it. Because of this I dont really know the name or really what exactly is in most of these photos. We have thoroughly enjoyed our wandering though and have stumbled upon some beautiful buildings and gotten to see lots of different parts of the city. Its nice having such a great exploring companion. I am looking forward to exploring whatever the next city we stumble into.

Josh took me here the first weekend I arrived. It was surrounded by a beautiful square. I love that there are so many squares and plazas to sit and enjoy in Europe.

The remnants of a church that survived the war. It is the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.

Easter in Berlin. This is the little surprise I woke up to. Gotta love German chocolate.

There is alot of graffiti around.

We found a giant bench. A good place to sit and relax.

The river Spree and the tv tower.

I love the red tiled roofs.

Another beautiful square we stumbled upon.

Showing off my belly.

Spring is coming!

A lovely little flower shop.

Remnants from the wall.

Where the wall once stood is now lined by this cobblestone path.

An old bus.

Brandenburg gate is beautiful at night.

And that conclues my time in Berlin. It looks like I should make it out on my flight tomorrow. So back to packing and enjoying the last day in such a beautiful city!

Volcanoes
Monday, April 19th, 2010
I had no idea how far spread the effects of a volcano eruption could be. I was supposed to fly out of Berlin this morning but do to the ash cloud over Europe and the majority of airports being closed, my flight was cancelled. I was rebooked on a flight Thursday morning. I do feel blessed to be in a situation in which it does not affect me much and in fact get to spend a few extra days with my husband. I do hope though that things begin looking up and that I will be able to make it out on Thursday. Until then, I will enjoy the extra few days here in Berlin with my husband.

Officially Sold
Saturday, April 17th, 2010

We sold our house, its official! We put our house up for sale by owner at the beginning of February and had an offer in six days. It took two months to close but now its finally officially over and sold. Things got a little hectic at the end trying to finalize things from across the globe but we made it work. As much as it is a relief to have that behind us I will truly miss the beauty at 818 Garfield. It was a wonderful first home filled with so many memories. I hope that one day I will find another that I love as much.

We will miss you Salt Lake City and all the wonderful people that came along with you.

Spring Fever
Friday, April 16th, 2010
I am READY for Spring. I am looking forward to the sunshine and warmer weather. I am sure I’ll be regretting those words once August in Oklahoma hits but for now im sticking to them. Its been overcast the last week here in Berlin and I hear the sun is shinning in Salt Lake. I am excited to soak it up once I leave here on Monday. My birthday is coming up so with the combination of that and my spring fever I’ve been looking for some fun footwear (since the option of clothes is rather disappointing at this point). I have had my eye on these colorful sandles for awhile:
But I also recently came across these:
They are very summery and best of all, they help support beautiful women in Uganda. Read more about the women and sandals at Sseko Designs. The only problem is Josh says they are ugly. What do you think??
I am also thinking maybe I would rather have some summery sneakers and am loving these ones:
Which pair do you think I should go for? Happy Spring!!!

Stockholm
Wednesday, April 14th, 2010
Over the Easter weekend we got to visit Stockholm. We were hoping to take advantage of being in Europe and found a great deal on flights. In Germany both the Friday before and Monday after Easter are holidays so it was the perfect long weekend to make the trip. The weather was beautiful the first few days and then snowed the last day we were there. It was fun seeing the city in Spring and covered in a layer of white. We mostly did alot of exploring on foot, enjoying the beautiful architecture and being on the water. We also took a boat tour of the city and a few of the surrounding islands. There are thousands of islands surrounding the city. Overall it was a relaxing weekend exploring a new city. Below are a few photos of our adventures:

Baby Clothes
Monday, April 12th, 2010
I have had a bit of free time lately and the main thing on my mind is baby girl so consequently I’ve stumbled upon some adorable baby girl clothes. Being in Europe has also provided the opportunity to explore new clothing stores. I really like European kids clothes. While in Stockholm we were able to visit a great Swedish store, Polarn O.Pyret. A few of my favorites we saw are:
I also recently came across the UK store Sparkle and Spin. Hopefully one day Adelaide will be sporting these duds:
A few great US options are the Liberty of London line for Target and the Stella McCartney line for Gap. Although alot of these items are already sold out. Maybe unique baby clothes are hard to come by. These are my favorites:
Baby clothes are just too much fun to look at. Since I dont have a nursery to decorate I’ll just have to settle for decorating Adelaide.

30 Weeks
Monday, April 12th, 2010
This is what it looks like to be 30 weeks pregnant.
I feel pretty good being 30 weeks pregnant. It seems like a big milestone. Only 10 more weeks! I dont think I should be counting down already though. I am ready for the baby.
